While I found it an emotional read at times, every instance of doubt and each heart-rending memory is countered by a story of hope. Warren takes the reader through the journey of his life as a Christian neurosurgeon. He shares just enough about his profession for you to realize he is utterly brilliant at what he does but he is also able to explain the intricacies of the brain in a straightforward manner that does not lose the non-medical reader. In addition, great quotes, a sense of humor and top-notch editing make for a smooth and satisfying read.Though a man of faith, Dr. Warren has struggled with said faith at times due to the constant devastation wrought by the terminal brain tumors he witnesses in his practice.
