Love, love, loved this book. Ellie Alexander never disappoints! I always eagerly await the next installment of the Bakeshop series. This book once again has the beautiful little town of Ashland on edge from a murder. Trying to figure out who did it was quite the chore. So many people had motive. We knew it wasn’t our beloved barista Andy but I wondered if the evidence would lead to his arrest. Once again Jules and Lance find themselves smack dab in the middle of the investigation and danger. It’s always fun reading how they go about getting information and stumbling onto who the killer is. The Barista Cup contest was such a learning experience. Who knew there was so much that went into making a good cup of coffee that everyone loves so much? I find the foam art interesting and would love to see someone actually do the bust of Shakespeare. Might have to take a trip to Ashland and see if someone there actually does it. So excited that Andy had such a staring role in this book and can’t wait to see what’s next for him. I love that Jules and Carlos are so happy together in Ashland. I wasn’t a fan of Carlos at first but once. Started rooting for Jules and Carlos I couldn’t wait for them to figure it out and be happy. Between the Bakeshop and the Winery, it looks like it will be happy times for them for years to come. Will children come soon? That would be awesome to see and fun to watch how they work a baby into their busy lives. Already on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book. If yo like small town cozy mystery, this book and this series is definitely for you. You will instantly love the characters and the town. This series and all of Ellie Alexander’s books are great reads for all ages too. What a satisfying read. For a long time series to work, the characters need to grow, alone and together, you need to carefully add more, and give us something else to think about all within our beloved framework. This series works on a number of levels. We see Jules, happy making a nest for herself and Carlos, growing her business (s), and encouraging her employees to grow. I think Andy must be a favorite among long time readers, he definitely is one of mine. Seeing him get a chance is great, of course we know murder must follow. Another good mystery and a great tale, and as always food, coffee and wine that make you want to swoon! Well worth your time !
